4 Apps Every Content Creator Should Be Using
Software I use every single day as a content creator and digital marketer
When I come in to work each morning, put my purse down, take off my coat and walk over to my desk and computer I open up my Chrome page and a screen with 4 tabs pop up automatically. I then open 2-3 more and begin working for the day. These are the apps I use on a daily basis to complete my tasks. As someone who single handedly runs the digital marketing sector of a business these are the apps that help me create, schedule and send out content the most efficiently. As someone with ADD, they also help get work done when my brain decides to not work. Whether it’s creating content, writing copy or just setting up when and where to market, these are the apps I use everyday as a digital marketer and content creator.
Notion: Organization
The first tab that opens on my Chrome page is Notion and it opens to my daily task page. I have one for work and for personal use and it helps me stay organized with tasks due, when and where to post content and special dates that I need to be aware of (business meetings, networking events, etc). I’ve been very forgetful lately so it’s been important that I write everything down, especially the really important stuff cause if I leave it up to my mind I won’t remember until 2 weeks after the deadline.
You don’t necessarily have to use Notion, Clickup and Trello work great too, but I just found that Notion works best for me and they have so many free planner templates to choose from.
Canva: Graphic Design
The next tab that opens automatically is Canva. It’s my go to graphic design software. YES, I have Adobe Creative Cloud which includes Illustrator, Photoshop, and Express, but Canva is just easier FOR ME! If I gotta make a graphic in 5 minutes I’m opening up Canva because I know where everything is. They have the elements I need, I have fonts loaded in there, it’s just easier. If we’re being honest, I only really use Adobe for logos because I can scale them.

title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t make beautiful, professional looking graphics with Canva and NO they don’t have to look like everyone else. Later on I’m going to show you how to plan out your graphics so you never use a Canva template again so make sure you subscribe to be the first to know when that drops.
ChapGPT: My Second Brain
I use ChapGPT a lot more than I should, if we’re being very honest lol. I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s my “second brain”. It’s that and my personal assistant. I even named her Chatty G Patty and me and Patricia have a very good work relationship. She helps me write my social media captions, whole ass emails, whole ass business letters, shit, it might help me write the title of this newsletter. ChatGPT is my right hand, my ace boone coon, my bestie and I don't know if I would get half the work I get done without it.
What I use ChatGPT for the most is scheduling content and creating campaigns, This is another thing I’ll be teaching on in the future. I tell the software what I want to focus on and how many days and where I want to post and it will schedule out an entire campaign for me. I even have a custom GPT that I use but again, I’ll get into that later.
Now I should be transparent and say I use ChatGPT Pro plan which is $20/month. But if you’re looking for a free alternative to pro, check out Deepseek.
Midjourney: My Go To People Maker
Lastly, Midjourney is what I use to create graphics and elements that aren’t in Canva or people and things that I want to be unique to me. It’s where I make people for ads where we aren’t selling products (Holiday posts and what not). I know ChatGPT pro gives you access to Dall-e, Canva has its own AI art software and I also pay for Leonardo AI, but Midjourney just seems like the happy medium for making realistic images. Leonardo can be overwhelming, Dream Lab is still new, and Dall-e just refuses to make anything more realistic looking than a Disney Pixar character, Midjourney is just right. The perfect software for the job. If you have a paid Medium account check out this article I wrote a few months ago where I used the same prompt in 3 of the AI art softwares.
Later on I will show you how I use ChatGPT to perfect my Midjourney prompts so I can get the best results on the platform.
Work Smarter Not Harder
Adding these 4 apps to my work tools has cut down my workload significantly. Tasks that used to take me all day to complete I get done before lunch now. I know 3 of the 4 apps I pay for to get the most out of them but trust me it’s worth it. What’s $50/ month when it cuts the workload in half? Sometimes you need to pay for convenience, the older I get the more I realize how important that is.
On Sunday’s (Or Monday’s if you wait until it goes out public or want to watch the video) I will go into further detail about these softwares and other bonus apps I pull out from time to time. So again, make sure you’re subscribed so you can get notified when it’s released.
To make it easier for me and so that I can get podcast episodes out to my Subscribers faster, I will only be posting video on Youtube and Spotify, unless it’s an exclusive for my Paid subs, so make sure you subscribe to my Youtube channel if you want to see my lovely face. Lol
Oh, and don’t forget my 14 day free trial to my paid subscription. You got 1 more week to take advantage so do it now!
Until next time.
BYE!
I love this list! I would add a CRM. It's so essential to build an email list before it's too late.
